If you see fire, call 911 first
Flames, smoke or a glowing outlet are a fire department call, not an electrician call. Get everyone out, call 911, then call us once the scene is safe.
Shut off the main — if you safely can
If something is sparking or your panel is hot, flip the main breaker — the large switch at the top of the panel. Only do it if you can reach it without standing in water or touching anything hot. Then call.
